DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 3 Begins! #watched S3E1

*SPOILERS AHEAD*

"In the season premiere, the Legends are relived of duty by the Time Bureau when they break the timeline. Meanwhile, Julius Caesar is spotted in Aruba, and Sara, Nate and Ray devise a plan to steal the Waverider back from the Time Bureau to stop Julius Caesar from conquering the modern world."

Episode One for Season 3 of DC’s LEGENDS OF TOMORROW starts with the Legends being “fired” from their “job” for the past two seasons - first working for Rip Hunter for “The Time Masters”, then from Rip Hunter of the newly introduced “Time Bureau” - in what might be the shittiest job security I’ve ever seen in fictional story-telling LOL

That PIN would be awesome as a collectible! So folks can cosplay as
Agents from “Men In Black” … eerrr… I meant “Time Bureau”…

Sure the little problem of “broken time” might have originated from the Legends, but they WERE doing their job, weren’t they? Sure they might have sucked at it, but hey, ”sometimes (they) screw things up for the better.” - quoteth “Nate Heywood” (the new “Colossus” in media, thanks!), so there ya go!

What I utterly enjoy about LEGENDS, is that they do not take themselves that “seriously”, and by that I do not mean anyone’s mucking about with tomfoolery here, but that the scripting and stories are seemed not to want to endeavour to any aspirations of grandeur, besides good story-telling in the vein of having FUN, heaped with the most comicbook-sensibilities of any shows out there, IMHO. And while I can argue comicbooks vs live-action media has always not been a “perfect marriage”, but perhaps in the instance of “Legends of Tomorrow”, do provide a darn fine fun way of presenting that “marriage”, without diluting so much of the source material, by way of “the real world” - so don’t get stuck in the real world, and create your own! Different timelines, of course … and a swell way to ride the “time travel” trend of modern day television! HAH!

There are some lines that make me go “WTF? Who’ll do that in the real world?”, but recognising they were written as such, for entertainment, and I utterly appreciate that :)

So excited to finally be back in your living rooms in a few hours 🤓

So what is to look forward to this season of LEGENDS OF TOMORROW? Maybe I’d rather find out as I enjoy each season (*cough-“Crisis on Earth-X”-cough*), because THIS series is where I’ll be looking forward to watching every week! BUT, of course you could scroll down to read the show synopsis :)

DC's “Legends of Tomorrow” is new Tuesdays at 9/8c on The CW. Stream it FREE next day!

SYNOPSIS: "After the defeat of Eobard Thawne and his equally nefarious Legion of Doom, the Legends face a new threat created by their actions at the end of last season. In revisiting a moment in time that they had already participated in, they have essentially fractured the timeline and created anachronisms – a scattering of people, animals, and objects all across time! Our team must find a way to return all the anachronisms to their original timelines before the time stream falls apart. But before our Legends can jump back into action, Rip Hunter and his newly established Time Bureau call their methods into question. With the Time Bureau effectively the new sheriffs in town, the Legends disband – until Mick Rory discovers one of them in the middle of his well-deserved vacation in Aruba. Seeing this as an opportunity to continue their time traveling heroics, Sara wastes no time in getting the Legends back together."

"We reunite with billionaire inventor Ray Palmer, the unconventional historian-turned-superhero Nate Heywood, and Professor Martin Stein and Jefferson “Jax” Jackson, who together form the meta-human Firestorm. Once reunited, the Legends will challenge the Time Bureau’s authority over the timeline and insist that however messy their methods may be, some problems are beyond the Bureau’s capabilities. Some problems can only be fixed by Legends."
